FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Contractor website FAQ: what each plan includes, the AI receptionist, speed and ad costs, SEO, AEO and GEO, compliance pages, revisions and billing.

The offer
What exactly do I get for the monthly fee?
A fully managed, custom-coded website built for general contractors: a page for every service you bid, a page for every town you serve, a project gallery, an estimate or bid request form connected to your CRM, weekly detail updates, 2 to 3 researched articles a week depending on tier, and Cloudflare hosting with SSL, CDN and DDoS protection included. Nothing here is itemized separately later.
How long until my site is live?
7 days on Foundation, 10 on Framing while the AI agents are trained, and 15 on Finish Out with the content engine running. The clock starts at the onboarding call, not at purchase, so the sooner the onboarding form is in, the sooner you are live.
Do you provide construction, permitting or safety advice?
No. We are a website design and management company, not a general contractor, construction firm or licensed builder. Articles and pages describe general information for readers researching a contractor; they are never a substitute for a licensed professional's estimate, a jurisdiction's permitting guidance, or your own scope of work with a client.
What is included in each plan?
Every plan includes the custom-coded site, service and town pages, the project gallery, CRM-connected forms, weekly updates, researched articles, the search build (SEO, AEO, GEO and schema), compliance pages, hosting, a domain and 5 revisions a month. Framing adds the AI Engine: an AI receptionist for missed calls, chat on your website and text-message replies that book estimate visits. Finish Out adds the Content Engine, with 3 articles a week instead of 2.
Do you work with contractors in every state?
Yes. We work with general contractors anywhere in the United States, including busy building markets such as Texas, Florida, California, Arizona, North Carolina and Georgia. The team is remote, support runs 9:00 to 17:00 Central Time, Monday to Friday, and the pages we build for you are local to the towns and counties you actually serve.
Getting started
What happens straight after I buy?
You fill in the onboarding form and submit it. It asks for your services, the towns you serve, your brand, your domain, your CRM and where enquiries should land, and it takes about 15 minutes. If something is missing, submit anyway: you can send the rest by email or raise it as a ticket in your client portal, and it will not hold up the build. We then run one onboarding call to fill any gaps and agree the launch date.
What is the client portal?
It is your account with us, and you get it the day your site goes live. From the portal you request revisions, raise a support ticket for anything that needs attention, send us files you still owe us such as project photos, and message our team directly. Everything to do with your site runs through it, so nothing gets lost in an inbox. You never log in to the website itself; we handle that side.
We do not have professional project photos yet. Can we still launch?
Yes. We build the initial gallery with whatever photos you have, described accurately with scope and timeline, and add better photography as new projects finish, through the included weekly updates. A site with a handful of well-described projects still ranks and converts better than a site with none.
What do you need from us during the build?
A list of the services you bid, the towns or counties you serve, any existing project photos, your logo and brand colors if you have them, and access to connect your CRM. Anything you cannot supply immediately can follow after launch without holding up the build.
Revisions and the client portal
What counts as a revision, and what happens after five?
A revision is any change request you send, and there is no limit on how much goes into one. A new service page, an updated project in the gallery, a different phone number, a color change: each is one revision. So is something much larger. "Add pages for two new towns, here is the copy and photos for both" is one revision, not four. 5 are included every month. After the fifth, each additional revision is a flat $20, with no cap on how many you can buy and no hourly billing anywhere. Every revision is completed within 2 to 5 working days, whatever the size.
How do I actually request a change?
Raise it in your client portal. You describe the change, attach anything we need such as project photos or updated pricing, and it lands with the team as a tracked request so you can see where it is. You can also email us or reply to any thread with our team, and we log it for you. Unused revisions do not roll over to the next month.
Can a revision add a whole new service or town page?
Yes, and that is exactly the kind of change the included revisions cover. As you take on a new trade, expand into a new county, or add a service line, send the details and it is built as a revision, not a separate project.
Articles
What do the articles cover for a construction company?
Topics your buyers actually search: how a kitchen remodel or tenant build-out typically runs, what to expect from a permitting timeline in general terms, how to compare bids, and what a specific service involves. Every figure cited has a source, and articles never give advice for a specific project or jurisdiction.
How many articles do we get, and how long are they?
2 a week on Foundation and Framing, 3 a week on Finish Out, each 2,500 to 3,200 words. They are written to answer a real question first and to link to the relevant service and location pages.
Can we suggest article topics?
Yes. Send topics through your client portal at any time. Absent a request, the team researches topics based on your services, your service area and what buyers in construction typically search before hiring.
The AI Engine
What does the AI Engine actually do for a contractor?
On Framing and Finish Out, the AI Engine answers common questions about your services and service area, takes down project details from a website visitor, and books an estimate or bid-request visit onto your calendar. It is configured not to give estimates, timelines or advice specific to a project, handing anything like that to a person at your business.
Do we review what the AI Engine says before it goes live?
Yes. You approve the scripts during onboarding, and they are built around your actual services and process rather than a generic construction template. You can request changes to the scripts at any time as a revision.
How is AI usage billed?
Separately from the monthly plan fee, in arrears, at exactly what our AI provider charges us, with no markup. Usage tracks how often the agent is actually used, so a quiet month costs less than a busy one.
Can the AI Engine answer phone calls?
Yes. On Framing and Finish Out the AI receptionist answers the calls your team cannot take, answers common questions about your services and service area, takes down the project details and books the estimate visit onto your calendar. Anything project-specific, such as a price or a timeline, is handed to a person at your business.
Does the AI Engine reply to texts and website chat?
Yes. The same engine runs a chat agent on your website and messaging agents that reply by text. Business texting in the US requires A2P 10DLC carrier registration; we file it for you and carrier fees are passed through at cost.
Speed and ad spend
Will a faster website lower my Google Ads costs?
It can help. Google counts landing page experience as one of the three parts of Quality Score, and a fast, relevant page supports that score, which can lower what you pay per click. A fast page also keeps more of the paid visitors who would otherwise leave while it loads. We do not promise a specific saving; ad costs also depend on your bids, market and competitors.
How fast will my site be?
Our terms guarantee a 90+ Google PageSpeed score on mobile and desktop for pages we build and host. Pages are custom coded, ship very little JavaScript and are served from Cloudflare's global network. If a page falls below the target because of our work, we fix it at no charge.
SEO, AEO and GEO
What is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?
SEO gets your pages ranked in search results. AEO (answer engine optimization) shapes pages so a search engine or voice assistant can lift a direct answer from them, as in featured snippets. GEO (generative engine optimization) makes your business easier for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews to understand and cite. Every plan includes all three.
Can you guarantee my company appears in AI answers?
No one can. What we do is make it more likely: answer-first pages, FAQ blocks, consistent business details, structured data on every page and an llms.txt file that describes your business plainly. What our terms do commit to is your site ranking for local searches in your area within 3 to 5 months of launch.
What is schema, and do I need it?
Schema is structured data (JSON-LD) that tells search engines what a page is: your business, a service, a list of questions and answers, where the page sits in the site. It helps pages qualify for richer results and removes guesswork for AI systems. We add it to every page by default; Review markup is only used for real reviews.
Do you build location pages for the towns we serve?
Yes. Each town, county or metro you serve gets its own page, naming the neighborhoods and permitting jurisdictions you know and crossed with the services you offer there. Location pages are how a contractor ranks for searches that include a place name, and new ones are added as revisions when you expand.
Compliance pages
Which legal pages come with my website?
A privacy policy, terms of use, a cookie policy with a consent banner that genuinely blocks analytics and marketing scripts until the visitor agrees, and an accessibility statement. We also give your license numbers and insurance details a consistent place, and add consent wording to text-message and callback forms. These help you meet your obligations; they are not legal advice.
Do I have to show my contractor license number on the website?
It depends on your state. Some state contractor licensing boards require the license number on advertising, and a website counts as advertising in those states. Check your own board's rules; we display whatever license and insurance details you give us, in the same place on every page.
Is the website accessible?
It is built with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and WCAG 2.2 AA in mind: readable contrast, full keyboard access, alt text on every image, labels on every form field, and respect for reduced-motion settings. Your site also gets an accessibility statement explaining how visitors can report a problem.
Hosting and management
Is hosting an extra cost?
No. Hosting is included in the monthly fee and never billed separately. Your site runs on Cloudflare's global network with SSL, CDN, DDoS protection and unmetered bandwidth included. There is no hosting invoice, no SSL renewal, no bandwidth overage and no surprise line item in month four.
Who handles security updates and uptime?
We do. Patching, platform updates and uptime monitoring are handled by the team that built the site. You are running job sites and managing crews; site security is not something you need to track separately.
Domains
Do I have to pay for a domain?
No. One domain is included free for as long as your plan is active, registered in your name through Cloudflare Registrar or Spaceship, so you own it outright. If you already have a domain we point it at the new site instead and nothing changes for people who know your current address. If you ever leave, tell us where to send the domain and we transfer it at no charge.
Moving from your current site
We already have a website. What happens to it?
We migrate what is worth keeping, most importantly your existing project photos and any pages that are already ranking, and set up 301 redirects from your old URLs so the site does not lose search rankings it has already earned. Your old host and domain are cancelled on your own schedule, not ours.
Will we lose the search rankings we already have?
A properly redirected migration preserves the ranking signal from your existing pages. We map every old URL to its equivalent new page before launch specifically to avoid the drop that happens when a site relaunches without redirects.
Billing and cancellation
What do I actually pay, and when?
You pay the monthly fee for the tier you choose up front: $127, $267 plus AI usage, or $647 a month. The $697 one-time build fee is invoiced only after your site is live and you are satisfied with it. Domain and hosting are inside the monthly figure.
How do I cancel, and how much notice do you need?
Email us and say you want to cancel. Your message must reach us at least 2 business days before your next invoice date, during business hours, which are 9:00 to 17:00 Central Time, Monday to Friday. A message sent outside those hours counts from the start of the next business day, so a weekend email does not give 2 business days of notice for an invoice due Monday or Tuesday. With valid notice, no further invoice is raised and your site runs to the end of the month you have paid for. With late notice, the next invoice is charged as normal and the cancellation takes effect at the end of that month.
Do you offer refunds?
No. All sales are final, and that includes monthly fees, the build fee, extra revisions and any cost we pass through at what our providers charge us. We do not refund for a change of mind or for a month you did not use. The one exception is a duplicate or incorrect charge made by our billing: tell us within 30 days and we correct it within 10 working days. The build fee is charged only after you have approved your site, which is exactly why it is not refundable afterwards.
