Why there is a build fee

What the $697 pays for

The monthly plan pays for running the site. The build fee pays for the work done once, before launch, and it is only due once you have seen the finished site and approved it.

How paying works

Three steps, then it is settled

  1. Step 1

    Pick the plan you are on

    The amount is the same on all three. Choosing your plan simply labels the payment so it matches your account.

  2. Step 2

    Pay on the secure Stripe page

    Card details are entered on Stripe, never on this site, and we never see or store the card number.

  3. Step 3

    Receipt by email

    Stripe sends the receipt straight away and we send a short confirmation. Nothing further is due for the build.

Questions about the build fee

Is this a subscription?

No. The build fee is one payment of $697. It does not renew, and paying it does not change your monthly plan, which is billed separately.

Do I need to pay this?

Only if we have told you a build fee is due, normally once your site is live and you have approved it. Plans started on or before December 31, 2026 have the build fee waived, so if that is you there is nothing to pay here.

Why is the amount the same on every plan?

The build is the same piece of work whichever plan you run: the design, the coded pages, the launch. What differs between plans is the monthly work after launch, so that is where the price difference sits. The build fee is $697 on all three.

Is it safe to pay here?

Payment is taken by Stripe on its own secure checkout page. Your card details go to Stripe, not to this site, and we never see or store the card number.

Can the build fee be refunded?

All sales are final, and that includes the build fee, which is only due once the site is built. The one exception is a duplicate or incorrect charge: tell us within 30 days and it is corrected within 10 working days. The refund policy has the full terms.
